If you’re reading this, you probably know a little bit about me. If you don’t, well…hey! Welcome!
I’m so glad you’ve decided to spend however many minutes of your day with me on this platform. There are so many things vying for your attention on Beyonce’s internet, and I’m honored you’ve decided to give some of your attention to me.
Mwah! 😘
A little bit about me.
I’ve been reading romance for two and a half decades, well before I should have been reading dirty books. (Sorry, Mom and Dad!) I wasn’t a theater kid—I was an opera kid. (Yes, really.) And despite getting a scholarship to study music at a university in Northern Virginia, I dropped my scholarship and declared my major in English Lit.
Dr. DeFazio really helped me see the light.1
Life took me all around the U.S. I loved D.C., but it’s one of the places I’ve lived the shortest amount of time in my life.2 The area definitely left a mark on me, though…so much so that I set my debut series in the location.
The Shadowplay Trilogy could be summed up as Scandal + The DaVinci Code with LOTS of spice. It’s a dark and angsty romantic suspense3 set in D.C. and the surrounding Virginia suburbs.
Here’s the blurb for book one in the series, SHADOWPLAY:
He’s the heir to a legacy of blood and betrayal.
I’m his newest obsession—and the one temptation he’ll destroy everything for.
I’ve fought my whole life to feel safe.
And now I help other survivors heal.
But outside of work, I know I’m only existing.
Not living.
I’m ready to be free. Be wild.
I’m ready to fly.
But when billionaire Hunter Brigham comes into my life, he leads me into a hidden world where powerful forces control more than is imaginable.
They want to control Hunter. They want to control me.
They want to keep us apart.
But Hunter and I? We're like magnets.
Destined to collide.
I just hope we can survive the crash.
Shadowplay is an angsty dark romance—a slow-burn billionaire romance that leads to lots of spice and a secret society that aims to take over the world. Shadowplay is book one in The Shadowplay Trilogy, is told in dual first person POV, and ends on a cliffhanger. Several themes may be troubling to some readers. Stick around and watch this space, though! The link to ANTECEDENT, the prequel to the trilogy, will drop here on this Substack over the next few weeks.
Thanks for reading!

I have a few friends from high school who are doing the damn thing. Some have won Grammys, others are on the Met stage right now. But that was never gonna be me. I’m okay with it, though!
Except for the very hot summer I spent in NYC at the Columbia Publishing Course.
Dark not because the characters are dark, but rather because there are dark themes.
